🔧 What Is a Grooved Mechanical Tee?

A grooved mechanical tee consists of two ductile iron halves:

  • Outlet half: Connects to the branch pipe.
  • Strap half: Clamps around the pipe.

An oversized hole is drilled into the main pipe, and the tee is clamped over it with a gasket to seal the connection. Bolts secure the assembly, forming a leak-tight branch outlet.
